Travels:From Finland to Tallin


I spent the last weekend in Tallin, Estonia.


It is very easy and affordable to go to Estonia from Helsinki. There are daily ferries that leave from the Finnish port to dock to the Estonian coast.


I spent two days in the old town of Tallin and it was just beautiful. I did not  aspect the city to be so special and unique.

The Old Town is actually one of the best preserved Hanseatic town centres in the world and it is has been part of the UNESCO since 1997.

I am still in love with the architecture and the small shops where they sell nice handcrafts.

Walking around the town and discoveing its magic corners and landscapes was amazing.

The city differs a lot from the finnish ones and the italian ones especially for the architecture.

Going there durining this period (Autumn) is probably not the best choice since it is already pretty cold and the weather is rainy and windy.

Nevertheless, I really enjoied the place and the special atmosphere.

The trip to Tallin is very raccomanded.

Studying in Finland: the main differences with the Dutch system   I have been studing physiotherapy for the last 3 years in The Netherlands. I was so excited about the opportunity of coming to Finland for a semester as an Exchange due to the fact that Finland is famous all over the world for the high level of education and the quality of the health care system.   Studying in Finland has been very interesting. Cultural shock: The family in  Sirkka/Kittila  Sirkka is a region located in the north of Lapland just, 40 minutes away from the more famous Levi. That was one of the best parts of our trip. Our b&b it was actually in Kittila and we found it thanks to Booking.com. When we got there already very dark so we could not see yet how amazing the area and the nature around us was. The b&b was just magic. If you go to this region of Finland and you are looking for a place to sleep and, at the same time, experience the unique and magic Lapland lifestyle, you should go there.
